Santa Barbara-based Mariachi Las Olas, founded and directed by Juan Zaragoza, will perform various music genres from Mexico including rancheras, boleros, corridos, sones and gustos.
BLUEGRASS with the SALT MARTIANS
Wednesday, Feb. 4th
The Santa Barbara-based Salt Martians (Ken Gaston on guitar and lead vocals, Tim Mullins on banjo and harmony vocals, Mike Mullins on mandolin and harmony vocals, and Aaron Douglas on string bass and harmony vocals) is an all-acoustic bluegrass band, performing tunes from Bill Monroe to the Byrds.

Directed by Richard North, the UCSB Gamelan Ensemble will showcase an ancient style of gamelan from Cirebon, West Java, featuring dynamic drumming, delicate melodies, and lively interlocking rhythms.
UCSB Jazz Ensemble

UCSB Jazz Ensemble director Jon Nathan leads a small ensemble of advanced students in a combo performance featuring transfer guitarist Jake Runestrand, long time UCSB Jazz Combos saxophonist Wes Gardner, and first year stand out bassist Jake Horvitz. Joining the group will be vocalist Isabella Mackie, an Education Abroad student from the UK, and current member of the UCSB Chamber Choir. This concert acts as a warm up to the UCSB Jazz Ensemble quarterly concert later that evening, "Let's Dance". Join us for a great day of jazz from the UCSB Jazz community!
UCSB GOSPEL CHOIR
Wednesday, March 4th
Directed by Victor Bell, the choir will perform traditional and contemporary songs drawn from African American religious traditions.
