UC Santa Barbara faculty members including Sarah Anderson (Bren), Frank Davis (Bren), and Charles Jones (Geography), and several graduate students, will participate in panel discussions and flash talks for the 2022 Wildfire Preparedness Exposition being May 6–8 at Direct Relief, 6100 Wallace Becknell Road, Goleta.

The weekend-long event , presented by Santa Barbara County Fire Safe Council, encourages the public to "be ready, be empowered and be fire safe," through an array of family friendly exhibits, activities and speakers meant to educate attendees about living in wildfire threatened communities.

A panel of experts from UC Santa Barbara will address "Wildfire In a Changing Climate" from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Saturday, May 7, followed by a series of shorter talks including “Preparing your home for wildfire,” “The future of wildfire insurance,” “Waterwise and firewise landscaping,” and “How to prepare for evacuation.”
