Vocalist Soo Hyun Ryu (soprano) is a fourth year undergraduate at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is earning a double major in a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a Bachelor of Science in Psychological and Brain Sciences. At UCSB, she studies under Dr. Isabel Bayrakdarian. In this year’s The Magic Flute by Mozart, Soo Hyun performed the roles of Second Lady and Second Spirit. She was also previously in the chorus of prior UCSB productions of Lehar’s The Mock Marriage and Mozart’s Don Giovanni. Soo Hyun will be continuing her studies in voice and going on to earn a Master of Music in Voice Performance at Indiana University-Bloomington, Jacobs School of Music.

Come see Soo Hyun's senior recital on June 5th, 2022, at 4:00 pm in Karl Geiringer Hall. The recital will feature Mi-Young Kim on piano and Rebecca Huynh on flute, and will feature works by composers such as Vincenzo Bellini and Giochino Rossini.
