A collaboration between the UCSB Chamber Choir and Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Brent Wilson and Jon Nathan, these ensembles will present Maria Schneider's grammy award-winning piece "Winter Morning Walks", a choral song cycle based on the poems of Ted Kooser as he was undergoing chemotherapy. Under his doctor's advice, he was restricted from exposure to sunlight and found solace in his morning walks before the sun rose. The piece has been arranged for jazz ensemble, mixed choir, and vocal soloists.
