Please join The Center for Feminist Futures for a virtual event. Dr. Angela Carter and Dr. Jigna Desai (Feminist Studies/Asian American Studies) present pilot study findings and recommendations discussing the experiences of multiply-marginalized disabled graduate students about mental health, burnout, access, chronic illnesses, and disabilities. From 2021-2023, the research team conducted an interdisciplinary mixed-methods project including surveys, focus groups and artistic expressions of international, LGBTQ+, first generation, and/or BIPOC disabled graduate students who discussed their experiences of mental health, burnout, COVID-19 pandemic, chronic illness, neurodivergence, and other disabilities within academic ableism . Carter and Desai will discuss the preliminary findings and recommendations. Q and A will follow.

Co-Sponsored by: Department of Global Studies, Grad Division, Resource Center for Gender and Sexual Diversity, Multicultural Center, Hull Professor of Feminist Studies, Associate Dean and Faculty Equity Advisor
