9:00 AM -11:00 AM - MTM: Preparing Leaders for the Future of Technology Management
A session featuring MTM program recaps, updates, and future plans, as well as time to learn about what current MTM faculty are researching and teaching about the impact of technology on organizations and work.
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM - What’s Your Business Strategy for AI? (open to all registered All Gaucho Reunion attendees)
In this interactive case session, UCSB alumni will take on a real business problem involving a company facing a consequential technology decision. The facts will be messy. The answer will not be obvious. The stakes will feel familiar to anyone trying to lead, invest, build, advise, or compete in a world being reshaped by AI, platforms, data, and rapid technological change.
Professors Paul Leonardi and Nelson Phillips will lead the discussion in the Technology Management style: sharp, practical, strategic, and focused on what leaders actually have to decide when technology changes the rules of competition and organizing. Participants will receive the case in advance, then come prepared to debate what the company should do next. No technical background is required. Just bring your business judgment, your curiosity, and your willingness to make a call when the future is uncertain.
12:00 PM - 1:15 PM - MTM: Lunch
