Please join us as the UCSB Middle East Ensemble presents its formal Fall concert on Saturday, November 23rd, at 7:30 pm in the Music Department’s Lotte Lehmann Concert Hall, featuring a great variety of music and dance.

The Ensemble will present a suite (a wasla) of traditional Arab instrumental music, a song by the Arab superstar Umm Kulthum (Alexis Story Crawshaw, solo vocal), a Tunisian song, two Armenian songs, and a 10th-century Hebrew song from Yemen.

As always, Alexandra King will bring a rousing group of dancers to perform Egyptian, Lebanese, Persian, and Turkish dances (with vocal solos by Javid John Mosadeghi and Dylan Rodgers). Additionally, we will feature two sets of extended solo dance by Genavieve and Zia.
