Step into the living laboratory of the UC Santa Barbara campus for an engaging Flora & Fauna Walk led by renowned Professor Emeritus of Plant Paleobiology, Bruce Tiffney.

As both a distinguished paleobotanist and a long-time campus steward, Dr. Tiffney offers a unique perspective on the diverse plant and animal life that calls our seaside home. Participants will wander through campus landscapes while learning about the history of our botanical collections, local ecology, and the fascinating stories behind the species that thrive in our Mediterranean climate. Whether you’re a nature enthusiast or simply looking for a scenic stroll, join us to see the UCSB campus through the eyes of an expert.

The UCSB Affiliates is led by a volunteer board of community members and campus representatives passionate about creating innovative and community- centered programming. The goal of the UCSB Affiliates is to build and celebrate connections between UC Santa Barbara and the greater Santa Barbara community. We provide a pathway for community members to learn more about UC Santa Barbara and participate in campus activities. Through our events and newsletters, we highlight exciting campus-community partnerships and initiatives.
