Ivan Law is a cellist from Los Angeles California and is currently based in Santa Barbara California. Beginning in eighth grade, Ivan taught himself how to play the cello and currently studies with Jennifer Kloetzel at the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB). In University, Ivan has performed with various chamber groups, performing a wide variety of repertoire ranging from Classical to Contemporary including the works of Beethoven, Brahms, Schubert, Caroline Shaw and more. He has also had the opportunity to play in masterclasses with the Danish String Quartet, Caroline Shaw, Sheku Kanneh-Mason and Isata Kanneh-Mason. Ivan has also performed in the UCSB Chamber Orchestra and UCSB Ensemble for Contemporary Music. He has also performed with the Santa Barbara Solstice Chamber Orchestra at Grace Fischer’s Annual Winter Showcase. Ivan has also worked with composition students at UCSB to create new works for solo cello.
