Together Gauchos Give Back and Make the World a Better Place!
On May 1st, 2022, we want to unite Gauchos throughout the United States, and the world to participate in a day of giving back to our communities. We encourage you to find a volunteer opportunity in your region that is meaningful to you and spend time giving back. For those of you joining us for All Gaucho Reunion, we've prepared a handful of meaningful services opportunities. We hope you'll join us and our Gaucho community in giving back!
Register here by April 18th and tell us what service project you will participate in on May 1st! Post a picture of yourself on social media sporting your UCSB gear using the hashtag #GauchosGiveBack and/or email your photo to programs@alumni.ucsb.edu including your name and class year.

The Recreation and Park District will provide equipment for volunteers (gloves, vests, grabbers and buckets) but they do strictly require that everyone wears closed-toed shoes as a safety precaution. Any minors would need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian during the event. Participants can join any time between 9:00am - 12:00 pm.
--------
Los Padres National Forest
Lizard Mouth Rock
9:00 am - 12:00pm
Lizard’s Mouth Graffiti Removal and Trash Clean-Up: Volunteers will assist the Los Padres National Forest in partnership with Los Padres Forest Association (LPFA) in cleaning up this popular bouldering spot along West Camino Cielo. Lizard’s Mouth is located up Hwy 154 and overlooks the Santa Barbara front country, which makes it a prime destination for sunset watching, picnics, and exploring the giant sandstone boulders. Unfortunately, it is also a popular destination for graffiti and trash. LPFA will provide equipment for removing graffiti along with trash bags, gloves and associated PPE. Please bring water, lunch and plan to wear sturdy shoes, a hat, long pants and long sleeves.
We will be bolder hopping and exploring for most of the day, with the opportunity for folks to stick closer to the paved road if necessary. Volunteers can help to transform this spot in a number of hours. Let’s help clean up our public lands! Waiver to be signed on-site.
