View mapPlay along with the Storke Tower bells! Bring your phone and be part of a special participatory carillon concert event. Wesley Arai (UCSB University Carillonist) will present a recital from the carillon in UCSB’s Storke Tower on Sunday, July 27th at 2:00pm featuring To the Sun, an audience-interactive piece that follows the journey of the Parker Solar Probe, the fastest ever human-made object. Other selections will include original works for carillon and arrangements of well-known classical and popular tunes.
Listeners are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on the grass outside the tower during the recital.
For the participatory portion of the recital, audience members are highly encouraged to congregate on the lawn north of the tower for an immersive experience. This unique and rare event is free and open to the public, no registration required. For more information on To the Sun, please visit suncarillon.org
